Slope of parallel line =

The line passing through (3, -5) and parallel to 24x minus 5y + 23 = 0 is:
y + 5   =  (x minus 3)
         
           =  5 (y + 5) = 24 (x minus 3)
       
          =   5y + 25 = 24x minus 72
     
          =   24x minus 5y minus 72 minus 25 = 0
       
          =   24x minus 5y minus 97 = 0
