Answer:
Let the combined system moves with acceleration a m/s2  .  
Then the string passing through pulleys should give a combined tension of  (70×a) newton to pull the 70 kg block.
 
Then at 35 kg block we have,  300 - (70×a) = (35×a) or 105×a = 300  or  a = 300/105 = 2.857 m/s2
