Expert Answer
Factors which affect the formation of soil are:
- Weathering: When the temperatures are extreme, the rock particles are broken resulting in the formation of soil.
- Nature of the parent rock: Soil is formed as a result of breakdown of rocks. The nature of the rock affects the formation and constituents of the soil. For example if a rock is rich in iron, then the soil formed from it will be rich in iron.
