Dadabhai Naoroji is considered as the pioneer of the reform movement in the Parsee community. At his behest, a religious Reform Association was established to fight religious orthodoxy among Parsees. He exalted modern ideas to respect the position of women within the community and promoted women’s education. He also encouraged widow remarriage. As a result of his efforts and the early push provided by him, the Parsee community became one of the most progressive communities in India.
