Dear student,
A male has XY whereas a female has XX sex chromosomes. Hence all eggs carry X chromosome whereas half the sperms carry X chromosome whereas the other half of sperms carry Y chromosome. So when the Y carrying sperm fuses with the egg, a boy is born whereas a girl child is formed when the sperm carrying X chromosome fuses with the egg.
