Explain how soil gets affected by the continuous plantation of crops of the same type in a field. Suggest one method of improvement of such fields.

Continuous growing of crops makes the soil poor in certain nutrients. Example: Continuous cultivation of non-leguminous plants makes the soil poor in its nitrogen content and other nutrients as well. Therefore, farmers have to add manure to fields to replenish the soil with nutrients.

Crop rotation and manuring are some methods to improve the field.
