Expert Answer
The oxygen of air being consumed by animals and plants in respiration and in the burning of fuels is constantly replaced by plants throguh the process of respiration. In the presence of sunlight, plants use carbon dioxide and water to make their food by the process of photosynthesis and produce oxygen gas. The consumption of oxygen by plants is less as compared to the amount of oxygen produced. Thus, plants by the process of photosynthesis refill the oxygen of air.
