The endocrine glands are those glands that secrete chemicals called hormones to help your body function properly. Hormones are chemical signals that coordinate a range of bodily functions. The endocrine glands controls processes-
(i) Growth and development
(ii) Metabolism and reproduction
The endocrine glands are hypothalamus, pineal gland, adrenal gland, pancreas, thyroid, parathyroid, ovaries and testis.
The exocrine glands are those glands whose secretions pass into system of ducts. They are the counterparts of endocrine glands which secrete their products directly into the bloodstream. The exocrine glands include sweat glands, salivary glands, mammary glands.
