Bernoulli's equation for an incompressible and non-viscous liquid is written as

where p and v are respectively pressure and speed of the liquid at a given point.
ρ is density of the liquid and h is the height of the considered point from some reference level.
 
Bernoulli's equation is based on energy conservation. First term refers the pressure energy of the liquid.
Second term refers the kinetic energy and third term refers the potential energy
 
In words, Beroulli's principle is stated as follows:-
As we move along a streamline of the flow of liquid, the sum of pressure p, the kinetic energy per uni volume (1/2)ρv2
and the potential energy per unit volume ρgh remains a constant.
