- The Press helped in spreading the message of patriotism and modern liberal ideals of liberty, freedom, equality, home rule and independence.
- The Press didn’t mince words in criticising the British government and exposed the true nature of British rule in India.
- It enabled the vast Indian population, spread across different regions and linguistic terrains, to exchange views, be in contact and organise joint political movements.
