Following were five important aims of Fascism:
- Fascism is essentially the anti-thesis of democracy. Fascists in Italy believed that democracy was not suitable for their country because it supposedly widened the gulf between the rich and the poor.
- Fascists held the view that a country should have only one active political party and one supreme leader. It was a widely propagated Fascist belief that a country could progress only under one leader. This automatically boiled down to the argument that dictatorship was the best form of government.
- Fascists favoured equal control over all sections of society. They wanted to control the capitalists, industrialists, labourers, landlords, peasants and artisans.
- Fascists laid extreme stress on nationalism and considered that it was more important that individual institutions.
- Fascists believed that the interests of the State must get precedence over individual interests because an individual gets all the rights from the State.
