Expert Answer
Every human being has 23 pairs of chromosomes. During cell division, the chromosomes separate and enter the daughter cells by the process of mitosis and meiosis in somatic and sex cells respectively. Everytime, a new individual is born, cell division occurs and the daughter cell has the equivalent number of chromosomes.
