Draw the graph of the equations
(i)x – k = 0
(ii) y – k = 0 where ‘k’ is constant

The linear equation x – k = 0 can be written down as
x + 0.y – k = 0
This has infinitely many solutions. In fact, the solutions are all of the form (k, h), where h is any real number
Also, we can check that every point of the form (k, h) is a solution of this equation.
So, as an equation in two variables, x – k = 0 is represented by the line PQ in the this graph
PQ line is parallel to the y axis
Similarly y – k = 0 can be written down as
0.x + 1.y – k = 0
This equation also has infinitely many solutions. In fact, the solutions are all of the form (k, h), where h is any real number
