Draw a cathode ray tube consisting of a heater, a cathode and a cylindrical anode.  Show how will you connect a low tension battery of 6 V and a high tension of 1000 V to the electrodes of the tube?

Answer:

The figure shows the cathode ray tube with proper connections.  The low tension battery of 6 V is connected between the terminals for the heater.  The high tension of 1000 V is connected between the cathode and the anode such that the anode is at positive potential with respect to the cathode.
