Does the time period of a pendulum change if raised by about 1 km?Does the time period of a pendulum change during free fall?

Expert Answer
If a pendulum is raissed by 1 km, then its time period increases. This is because g decreases with altitude.
Consider a pendulum hanging from the ceiling of a lift. If the lift is in free fall, then the time period will be infinity. This is because the pendulum will not feel any gravity and will be weightless.
