Expert Answer
As per definition, refractive index of a medium is the ratio of speed of light in vaccum to that of in that medium itself. Refractive index is always a relative quantity. It depends on the electrical primitivity, magnetic permeability, molecular polarizability. Besides these factors, it also depend upon size of molecules of the material , configuration or average distance between the successive atoms can be change with variation of temperature so in this way refractive index has a kind of indirect dependence on temperature.
