Do you think Drona's act towards Eklavya justified? Give reason.

No, I don't think that Drona's act towards Eklavya was justified. Eklavya was an excellent archer who surprised Drona and the pandavas with his archery skills. He (Eklavya) had shot seven arrows in the dog's mouth to keep it quiet without hurting him.  Drona had promised Arjun that he would be unrivalled amongst his pupils. Drona, thus asked Eklavya's thumb as a fee which he readily gave. Now Eklavya was not as good a archer as he was earlier. 
This act of Drona was unjustified because it showed his partial behaviour. For teachers, all students irrespective of their social, political and economic backgrounds should be equal. He sacrificed the talent of Eklavya for the promise he had made to Arjun.
