DNA polymerase: Catalyse the addition of activated DNA nucleotides, according to complementary base-pairing rules, to make two new identical molecules of DNA.

DNA ligase: Connects the Okazaki fragments, closing the gaps between their sugar-phosphate backbones by catalysing the formation of phosphodiester bonds.
