Expert Answer
- Nitrogen: It is essential for the survival of the plant. Since plants cannot directly take in nitrogen from the atmosphere, bacteria living in the soil and roots of plants convert it into a form which can be used by the plants.
It is generally used in all pharmacological drugs.
- Oxygen: It is a life giving gas as it is required by humans and animals for respiration.
It helps in combustion and is required in energy production in generators and ships.
- Carbon Dioxide: Plants prepare their food with the help of carbon dioxide.
It absorbs heat during the day and keeps the Earth warm during nights.
- Water Vapour: Water vapour absorbs the Sun’s heat and keeps the Earth warm during nights.
It results in the formation of the clouds which subsequently bring in rainfall.
