Expert Answer
Fish have a streamlined body shape, flexible backbone, fins and strong muscles which help them to swim in water.
Their body shape is such that water flows easily around it allowing the fish to smoothly move in water.
The muscles covering the skeleton move the front part of the body towards one side and the tail swings to the other side.
Then the front and tail move in the opposite directions in the next go forming a jerk which propels the fish forward.
A series of such jerks makes the fish swim in water.
