discuss briefly with the help of asuitable diagram what happens when unpolarised light passes through
two identical polaroids where the orientation of one polariod is fixed and the second is rotated with respect to the one.draw a graph showing the dependence of intensity of transmitted light on the angle betweent the polarizer and analyzer explain cleary how one understand this variation using malus law

The phenomenon of polarization can be studied with the help of following arrangement:

The plate T1 is kept fixed and T2 is rotated. When the axes of plates T1 and T2 are kept parallel to each other,
the light is transmitted without any change in intensity.
However, when the plate T2 is rotated by 90°, then the light is completely cut off. The general observation is that
as the plate T2 is rotated, the intensity of transmitted light goes on decreasing till the plate is oriented at 90°.
After 90°, the intensity goes on increasing and maximum transmission happens when the axes are aligned parallel to each other again.

The graph of intensity vs angle is shown below:

According to Malus' law, we have I = I0 cos2θ
When θ = 0°, I = I0
When θ = 90°, I = 0
