Effects of the Earth’s revolution are:

  • Changes in the seasons: The revolution of the Earth results in the changing of the seasons. Seasons change due to the change in the position of the Earth with respect to the Sun.
  • Creation of Heat Zones: Due to the spherical shape of the Earth, the Sun’s rays fall over it at different angles. This results in an uneven distribution of the Sun’s heat leading to the creation of different heat zones on the Earth’s surface.
  • Perihelion and Aphelion positions: The Earth’s orbit is elliptical. When there is a minimum distance between the Earth and the Sun, it is known as Perihelion. Similarly, when the distance between the Sun and the Earth is the longest, it is known as Aphelion.
