The following points differentiate evaporation from vapourisation.
1) Evaporation takes place at all temperatures but vapourisation takes place only at a fixed temperature which is the boiling point of liquid.
2) Evaporation is a slow and gradual process whereas vapourisation is a rapid and violent process.
3) Evaporation takes place only at the surface of the liquid whereas vapourisation takes place over the entire liquid.
4) Evaporation causes cooling whereas vapourisation does not.
