Difference between vascular bundles of monocot nd dicot root

Monocot Root
- Vascular bundles are polyarch.
- 6 vascular bundles are present.
- Xylem and phloem bundles alternate with each other.
- Protoxylem lies in contact with the pericycle.
- Metaxylem is present towards the centre of the root.
- A parenchymatous tissue called conjunctive tissue lies in between the xylem and the phloem.
- Conjunctive tissue does not form the vascular cambium.
Dicot Root
- Vascular bundles are radial and exarch.
- 2 to 6 vascular bundles are present.
- Protoxylem lies in contact with the pericycle.
- Metaxylem is present towards the centre of the root.
- A parenchymatous tissue called conjunctive tissue lies in between the xylem and the phloem.
- Later, the conjunctive tissue forms the vascular cambium.
