ICSE Class 8 Answered
The Early Nationalists or the moderates followed the Constitutional Agitational Method to put forward their demands. The moderates held meetings and gave speeches for pressing their demands. They criticised the policies of the government through pressMemorandums and petitions were sent by them to the government officials and the British Parliament. The Moderates followed the three P’s i.e. Petition, Prayers and Protests in order for the government to hear them. This was done by sending petitions, request letters to protest against the unjust policies of the government
The methods of the Assertive Nationalists differed from Early nationalists. The former launched Swadeshi and Boycott movements to hit the British economic interests. A national scheme of education was planned as an alternative of the governmental controlled universities. The Assertive leaders followed the policy of nonviolent resistance and strong political action to achieve the independence of the country.
They thus urged the people not to cooperate with the government and to boycott government controlled educational institutions, courts, services etc.
