Difference between opposite and antiparallel vectors?

Expert Answer
A negative or opposite vector for a given vector is a vector of same magnitude but acting in opposite direction.
For example -
Two vectors are antiparallel vectors when
i) Both have opposite direction
ii) One vector is scalar non-zero negative multiple of another vector.
For example -
A negative vector is an antiparallel vector, but an antiparallel vector is not necessarily a negative vector.
