Faraday experiment is related to electromagnetic induction. He demonstrated by his experiments that relative motion between coil and magnet gives induced current in the coil. Faraday showed that when a magnet is moved towards a coil, if coil is connected to a galvanometer, then galvanometer shows deflection that indicates induced current is flowing in the coil. Similarly when magnet is moved away from coil or coil is moved when magnet is stationary, it was shown that induced current is setup in the coil

Plucker experiment demonstrates passage of current between electrodes when these elctordes are placed in a evacuated tube and potential difference is applied between them. Plucker had two electrodes sealed in an evacuated glass tube, set up an electric potential between them, and succeeded in driving a current across. The current produced glowing effects within the tube, and those effects changed according to quality of the vacuum chamber. If the vacuum was very good the glow would fade out, but the glass of the tube around the anode gave off a green light. Later on further related experiments were done by Willam Crooks and John Thompson .

These experiments showed that passage of current between the electrodes placed in vacuum is due to passage of stream of particles that are deflected by electric and magnetic field. These experiments lead to the discovery of electron
