Describe in detail the revolution of the Liberals, 1848.
Dear Subbarao,
In the liberal revolution of 1848, people belonging to the middle class participated. The middle class stood for ‘liberalism’. Liberalism in political terms stood for equality, freedom, formation and working of government by consent. In economic field, liberalism advocated the freedom of markets and abolition of unjust duties on the movement of goods from one territory to the other.
The liberal movement thus wanted overthrow of monarchy and the creation of the nation states.Due to the demands of the liberals, the kings began to grant some constitutional concessions to the people.
