Expert Answer
1. Prepare a water bath: take a beaker and fill it half with water.
2. Put about 5 ml of ink in a china dish and then place the china dish over the mouth of the beaker containing water.
3. Then keep the beaker along with china dish on a tripod stand and start heating the beaker with a burner.
4. Soon, the water in beaker starts boiling to form steam. This steam heats the ink in the china dish. Due to this heating, the water present in ink starts evaporating gradually.
6. When all the water has evaporated from ink, we stop heating.
7. We find that a small amount of a solid colored substance, dye is left behind in the china dish and water is evaporated from the ink.
