Derive the following equation of motion from velocity - time graph:-

Let v0 and v be the velocity of an object at t=0 and t=t respectively, and 'a' be the uniform acceleration.

Let the distance covered in time t is S.
 
 
 
   From the graph, we have
    v0=OA=CD
    v = OE=BD
     t = OD=AC
 
 
 
  1. We know that area of v-t graph with time axis gives the distance
 
2.    As   S= Area of trapezium OABD
