dehydration of alcohols to alkenes is usually carried out in presence of conc sulphuric acid and not by using HCl or HNO3. Give reasons..

In case of HCl  elimination reaction will compete with nucleophilic reaction due to Cl- ions which is a good nucleophile ,HCl and HNO3 are not  good dehydrating agents wheras H2SO4 is.
Hence elimination reaction in alcohols takes place in the presence of sulphuric acid leading to the formation of alkenes
