CBSE Class 11-science Answered
Dear teacher is this statement is true:when we apply deforming force on body its molecular arrangement changes leading to strain now due to property of elasticity body restores itself by restoring force called stress.so the correct sequence will be deforming force then strain then stress. Waiting for response. Thank you

Expert Answer
Yes it is true.
When we apply certain deforming force to a body, the molecules of the body undergoes displacement.
This displacement results in strain in the body.
Now, every body has a certian level of elasticity. This enables the body to restore its original state.
Hence, a restoring force now acts on the body. Now, the restoring force per unit area of the body is the stress.
Hence, the sequence is deforming force, then strain and then stress.
