1. draw XY = 6 cm
2. take 7cm in compass, put the metal head at Y, make a big arc above line XY
3. take 5.5cm in compass, put the metal head at X, cut the arc that was made previously
4. Mark intersection as Z, join XZ and YZ

The perpendicular bisector PQ of YZ

1. take a measurement in compass more than half of YZ length
2. put the metal head at Y, make arcs on both sides of YZ
3. put the metal head at Z (don't change the measurement), cut the arcs on both sides of YZ
4. Mark the intersection points as P and Q, join PQ

Bisect angle XYZ

1. take any measure in compass, put the metal head on Y, cut arcs on YX and  YZ
2. put the metal head on the point were arc cut YX, make an arc in the interior of angle XYZ
3. now put the metal head on the point were arc cut YZ, cut the arc
4. join the point of intersection of arcs and Y
