Answer:

New position of the image will be given by

1/v'' = 2/f + 1/u

1/v'' = (2u+f)/fu

v'' = fu/(2u+f)

Let the shifted position be given by x

1/v = (u+f)/uf

1/v' = 2/f + 1/x

since 1/v' = 1/v = 1/f + 1/u, therefore

(u+f)/uf = (2x+f)/fx

(u+f)/u = (2x+f)/x

ux+fx = 2ux+fu

fx-ux = fu

x = fu/(f-u)
