Compare the behaviour of appliances in a series circuit and a parallel circuit

When two or more resistors are connected end to end consecutively they are said to be connected in series. And when the two or more resistors are connected between the same two points they are connected in parallel.
In series combination, if one electrical appliance stops working then all other appliances stops working. In parallel combination, when one electrical appliance stops working due to some defect, then all other appliances keep working normally.
In series, all appliances have same switch while in parallel combination each electrical appliance have different switch.
All appliances connected in series combination do not get same volatge as that of power supply line. In parallel combination, each electrical appliance gets same voltage as that of power supply line.
The overall resistance of the circuit increases in series circuit due to which the current from the power supply is low while it decreases in parallel circuit due to which the current from power supply is high.
