1. You will have to remember this. So, all functions are positive in the first quadrant, only sin and cosec are positive in the second quadrant, all functions are negative in the thrid quadrant and only cos and sec are positive in the fourth quadrant. 
 
2. sin(x) being a symmetrical function can be plotted easily from pi/2 to pi. 
 
sinpi = sin0 = 0
sinpi/2 = 1
sin 5pi/6 = sin pi/6 = 1/2
sin 2pi/3 = sin pi/3 = root(3)/2
