Coffee costing 450 per kilogram was mixed with chicory costing 225 per kg in the ratio of 5:2.If the mixture was sold at 405 per kilogram,find the gain or loss per cent.

Expert Answer
Total cost price = 5 × 450 + 2 × 225 = Rs. 2700
Total selling price = 7 × 405 = Rs. 2835
Here, S.P > C.P
Gain = 2835 - 2700 = 135
Gain% = (135/2700) × 100 = 5%
