Dear Suyash,

During the Mughal time, cultivation was the main occupation of the people.

Today several industries have been opened in various parts of the country. Number of people working in the secondary and tertiary sectors has increased. However, agriculture still forms the back bone of the Indian economy. Agriculture and peasants are still extremely important today. India produces enough not only to feed its ever growing population but also exports food grains.

Yes, compared to the Mughal era, the gap between the rich and poor has narrowed down. But still the situation is far from satisfaction.
