What factors led to India's prominence as the world's major textiles producer and exporter in the 18th century

During the 18th century, India was the leading producer and exporter of textiles in the world. This was because of the following reasons:
- Indian textiles were famous for their fine quality and exquisite craftsmanship.
- Indian textiles had markets in Southeast Asia, Central Asia, West Asia and Europe. Because of the fine quality of the Indian textiles, many words related to Indian craftsmanship made their way into the English dictionary.
- India produced large quantities of printed cotton cloth known as chintz, cossaes and bandanna. These fabrics and designs became famous in Europe.
- India was well coonected to various African and European countries by land and sea routes. This also helped her to export her textiles to various countries in the world.
