This is the derivation of moment of inertia of a solid cylinder about an axis through it's center and perpendicular to it's axis.  I understand the complete derivation but the line  Moment of inertia of elementary disk about diameter AB = 1/4 × mass × radius²  I don't understand why we have divided the mass by 1/4  please explain thoroughly. Step by step.
