- It means that resistance is directly proportional to the length of the conducting wire, that means, longer the wire, higher will be the resistance against the flow of current through that wire.
- Second major point is, the resistance is inversely proprotional to the cross sectional area of the wire, that is if the cross sectional area or the thickness of wire is more, the resistance against the flow of current in that wire will be comparitively less.
- On converting the proportionality sign into equallity (=), we get a coeficient of proportionality that is 'rho' (p) which is called resistivity and that is the material property of the wire (a constant number for every element)
