Calculate the equivalent resistance between a and b

Expert Answer
Given circuit shown in fig.1 is redrawn in fig.2. Parallel combination of 6Ω and 3Ω gives equivalent resistance 2Ω and
this 2Ω is in series with 8Ω gives effective resistance 10Ω as shown in fig.3.
It is easy to workout the overall equivalent resistance between A and B as the equivalent resistance of
parallel combination of 30Ω and 10Ω resistances as shown in fig.3.
Hence the equivalent resistance is 300/40 = 7.5Ω
