Electrostatic repulsive force between two protons that are at a distance r apart is given by,
 
  begin mathsize 12px style F subscript e space equals space fraction numerator e squared over denominator 4 πε subscript 0 straight r squared end fraction end style  ......................(1)
e is charge on each proton and ε0 is permitivity of free space
 
weight w = mpg  ..............................(2)
 
where mp is mass of proton and g is acceleration due to gravity
 
if electrostatic force equals weight, then    begin mathsize 12px style m subscript p g space equals space fraction numerator e squared over denominator 4 πε subscript 0 straight r squared end fraction space space o r space space space r space equals space square root of fraction numerator e squared over denominator 4 πε subscript 0 space m subscript p g end fraction end root end style  ............................(3)
values of constants can be substituted in eqn.(3) and the diostance r can be calculated
