But what if the covering is done vertically.(from top to bottom half the lens is covered,on one side) that time two refracted rays cannot converge and meet, so the image cant form.

The lens is a 3D object. We represnt the ray diagram on a 2D page.
So, covering the vertical half of the lens will not affect the image as the other vertical half will form the image in the same sense.
This time also the intensity will be reduced.
