There are no definite evidences which can help us to sketch the religious beliefs of the people in IVC. Historians discovered the seal ‘Proto Shiva’ from the Harappan period.They tried to find evidences if the Harappansworshipped any godsor goddesses or had any religious beliefs.TheRigveda, the earliest religious text,mentions a god named Rudra who is later known by the name of ‘Shiva’.However, Rudra does not appear as a pashupatior as a yogi.Thus, historians are confused as to what the seal of ‘Proto Shiva’ depicts.
