Light reaction is a photochemical reaction, taking place in presence of light in grana of chloroplast. This reaction synthesises ATP and NADPH2.

 

Dark phase is also known as a biosynthetic phase—the phase in which atmospheric CO2 is fixed into organic carbon. It occurs independent of light.
