# BD(probability)

Asked by 6th September 2009, 2:50 PM

B(6,1/2) means n =6 and p probabillity of success = 1/2

This gives probability of failure =1/2

P(X=x)=nCx    q n-x . px  P(X=0)=6C0    q 6. p0 =(1/2)  6

P(X=1)=6C1    q 5. p =6(1/2)  6

P(x =2) = 6 C2 q4.p2  = 15.(1/2)6

P(X=3) = 6C3.(1/2)6 =20.(1/2)

P(X=4) = 6C4.(1/2)6 =15.(1/2)

Probability is max at x=3 and is decreasing afterwards
