At which point does the SMC curve cut the SAC curve? Give reason for your answer?

Expert Answer
The short run marginal cost curve (SMC) cuts the short run average cost curve (SAC) from below at its minimum point. At the initial stage, SMC remains below SAC when there is a decline in SAC. When SAC starts increasing, SMC goes above SAC and gradually becomes more than SAC.
