At what angle should a projectile be thrown such that the horizontal range of the projectile will be equal to half of its max value?

Answer:
We know that horizontal range R of projectile is given by,   R =( u2 sin 2α ) /g .
 
Maximum range Rmax is given by,  Rmax = u2 / g  when α = 45º
 
Range will be half of Rmax , when sin2α = (1/2), ie α = 15°
