Area of the path around a square plot is 900m^2 . Find the width of the path if each side of the square plot is 16m long. Also find the cost of planting grass on the path at the rate of Rs.30 per m^2

Expert Answer
plot area = 16×16 = 256 m2
path area = 900 m2
area of square that contains plot and path = 900+256 = 1156 m2
side of the square that contains plot and path = 
Hence width of path = ( 34 - 16 ) / 2 = 9 m
